Shop for your Sweethearts | Fundraising on the Mainline

Did you attend?  If not you missed out on a great evening to find gifts for your sweethearts for Valentine’s Day!   Susannah Rinker  and Darci Henry put together a great fundraising event at Fabio & Danny’s Station Cafe for the Miller Family who lost their father, spouse, and beloved friend back in September.   If you did not get to attend- No worries, because you can still purchase items online and the proceeds will still benefit the Miller Family!

In order to better understand the event, we asked Susannah the following questions before the event took place!
Why did you want to do this?

“I remember hearing about Officer Miller’s passing in September. It was so shocking, and I remember thinking about his family, and about his children. I remember reading about his boys, whose ages are the same as my boys, and I just couldn’t get this family out of my mind. When my friend, Darci Henry, and I talked about putting together a fundraising/shopping event, we wanted the proceeds to go to people, not to an organization. We thought if we could give a little something special to this family, it could warm up some of these cold days of winter for them.”
Who is involved with the event?

“Darci Henry and I have known each other for a long time, and have worked together over the years. I love, and wear only, her cosmetics, and she loves Stella & Dot…so we have fun together, and wanted to put our energy into something that would make an impact!!  Darci’s website is www.darcihenry.com. And if you can’t make it to the event, purchase through Darci’s website and make a note at checkout that you are there for the Miller Family, and proceeds will go to the Millers!”

“Philly Word Art, www.phillywordart.com. I was introduced to Dan Duffy’s unique representations of so many of our Philly sports icons and moments and a shopping event last year. I have his artwork in my kids’ playroom, and I know any Philly sports lover, young or old, will love it too!”

“Beth Hixson is a friend of mine and local girl! She represents J Hilburn custom men’s clothing. By personal appointment she will take measurements and help the men in your life create a custom clothing option, casual to formal. www.bethhixson.jhilburn.com

“I will be representing Stella & Dot, and Beth Hixson who is also a Stella & Dot stylist will be helping me. Again, if you can’t make it but want to shop for this cause, purchases made through this link http://www.stelladot.com/ts/gsd46 will go towards the Millers.”

“Our goal for the event was to support a cause with our businesses, and wanted it to be personal…we do many fundraisers where we donate to an organization. We wanted this to be different, and really make an impact on a person, or a family. Officer Miller’s passing in September has just stuck with me, and we are hoping to raise some money for the Miller’s so they can plan something really fun and relaxing for Stephanie and her boys!!  We want to share some joy with the Millers, especially at this time of year that is hard for so many. And anyone who wants to do some fun shopping for Valentine’s Day, for their sweetheart, their kids, mom, or themselves!”
We have the honor of working on some really large events but it is still important to us as a team to support local families, businesses and the community that surrounds us!
