This years (2011) summer weddings will always be remembered as the heat wave of the century that casted its sweltering grip on PA for a week straight.
However that didn’t stop any of our couples from enjoying their special day: July 23, 2011.
Karen Pecora Events had two weddings on this grizzling hot day…and trust us when we say the rehearsal’s were that much hotter at 5pm the day before.
Hannah Tucker Mueck, Markus Mueck and their (cute as a button) 3 month old daughter Louisa could care less about the heat (although poor Markus was dying in his suit). This picture perfect family was married in Germany and was now having a second wedding in the states with friends and family!
Karen Pecora Events came prepared for the wedding day with frozen water, iced water, mini fans (for bride and groom), and ice packs. Four days before the wedding at DuPortail House: EventQuip came and put fans into the tent where Hannah and Markus’s guests would be dancing.
The outdoor ceremony was beautiful (yes, we still had the ceremony outside) and we made it quick. Led by Gail Epps, Hannah had her sister read a poem and one of her close friends read another with her husband. It was simply elegant for how hot it was. What would a wedding be without some tears…Markus read a letter to Louisa (daughter) in German and Hannah read the letter in English. The whole congregation had tears in their eyes. The whole event was lovely and both families danced under the moon lit (thunderstorm free) sky. Although, the rain may have cooled it off jut a tad- we were still happy we did not have to move to the rain plan.
I loved this DIY bride and family! It was so much fun helping them with different aspects of the wedding. Their creativity and spontaneity really came in handy when making paper fans for the guests 2 days before the wedding- was a great idea! I especially loved the “Leaf your Thumbprint” as their guest book! It totally went with the theme of the evening.
Happy Autumn & Fall Planning!
