Philadelphia Event Planners are showing off their design skills in Montgomeryville

We’re showing off our design skills yet again. A good friend of Karen’s in the industry- Crystal Rose Catering, has a new venue in Montgomeryville, and guess who was invited to do the décor? That’s right, – the girls at Philadelphia Event Planners! My first week interning with Karen and Kassie was an intensely joyful ride that I’ll never forget.

When the girls told me we were setting up for a photo shoot, I was beyond excited to be a part of their team – but I was even more excited when I saw the gorgeous flowers, the textured tablecloths and the big feathers. At first, I thought to myself…”I really have to put ALL these chair covers on?” As I was rushing around trying to get the job done, I watched as Karen and Kassie worked together putting three very different tables together, right down to the small details in silverware and glassware.

We highlighted the room by dimming all the lights and putting pin spots of light around the room.  The pewter linens immediately captured the purple lighting, and looked fabulous.  The centerpieces were full of lush pink roses, antique/green/white hydrangea and crystals in clear glassware really created a “Wow” Factor! White chair covers and sage sashes picked up the hues of the green and antique hydrangea under the dim lights.

After assembling everything and folding all the napkins, I stepped back to study the stunning view that was in front of me. Seeing their work, surrounded by all the candlelight, I felt like something magical happened – and it did – we as a team accomplished this, it looked gorgeous and I was really proud of myself! At first I thought I was out of my element and let myself get intimidated by their professionalism…which I never do. Then I realized they’re just like me. They once had a big dream, and stopped at nothing until they reached above and beyond the goals they set for themselves. For this, I will be forever grateful for the opportunity, time and faith they gave me.

I will continue to further myself in the industry while thanking them for allowing me the honor of working alongside them. Crystal Rose Catering was my first job, and I loved every second of it. I can only hope that through the rest of my work…this experience will help be to better myself in the planning of an event, but most importantly, my eye for design!
