The Reel Abilities Film Festival envelopes what JFCS is all about…celebrating the joys and supporting the challenges of an individual’s life journey. JFCS does this from the very beginnings of life for a baby and a family, through childhood, adolescence, adulthood, the senior years and eventually the end of life. Making sure that all individuals, no matter what life throws their way, are included, respected, and given an opportunity to shine is why they exist and why they felt so strongly about bringing this film festival to the city of Philadelphia and why we as event planners in Philadelphia were happy to be a part of this amazing week!
Sara Wenger who has worked for months on Reel Abilities..those of us who know Sara truly appreciate her creativity, sensitivity, and artistic ability.
Complimenting Sara in the effort is Holli Elgart, Director of Donor Engagement who took on this week of events with fervor. Eli, Director of our Center for Special Needs director. JFCS provides the important services to individuals and their families with special needs.
Silent Games was the feature film to kick off this festival. The captivating story of an Israeli national deaf soccer team set out to become one of the top eight contenders in the 2007 World Championship in Bulgaria. Through ground-breaking techniques, award- winning director Yael Klopmann follows the stars of this team through their victories and hardships.
A special thank you to our many volunteers and Facebook followers who have come out to help us and support this wonderful community project.
Working with Betty the Caterer and Jordan Cassway is always a pleasure. Both companies offer continued love and support to JFCS.
We will continue to assist the film industry in bringing great film festivals to the city of Philadelphia.
Make it a Great Day,
