Saturday night April 6, 2013- Mainline Event Planners was on the planning committee for the Adult Social Casino Night silent auction at Phoenixville Country Club. The proceeds from this event went to Valley Forge Elementary School– Parent Teacher Organization. The PTO’s job is to fundraise, with the proceeds going to support educational programs and equipment for the school.
The silent auction was sponsored by Karen Pecora for her son, who is currently in Kindergarten. We had eight categories and close to 115 items! Items available for bidding were Family Outings, Home-Health and Fitness, Party- Camps & More, Sports and Sports Memorabilia, Overnight & Unique Excursions, Dining-Date Night & Theatre, All Kid- All Fun, and Teacher Time. Even though this silent auction was for adults, many of the items auctioned off were geared towards families or children while at school.
When Karen and Kassie went to a PTO meeting and found out about Teacher Time- both were intrigued at the amount of money that it raises. What a cool idea to be the Principal for half a day, go on a Picnic and Hike with your Kindergarten Teacher, being the Phys. Ed teacher for a day, and a Pizza Party for a student and a friend with their 3rd grade teachers?
There was a two night stay in Avalon NJ, a carriage ride in Chester County, and a one night stay at The Great Wolf Lodge. There were also many great sports packages as well as memorabilia items that were up for auction. Sport packages consisted of Eagles preseason game tickets, a Villanova Men’s basketball autographed by the team and numerous tickets to the Philadelphia Phillies games. There were autographed Flyers frames of Simon Gagne, Bernie Parent and autographed hammers signed by Dave Schultz of the flyers!
The most popular item auctioned off on this night was Dinner and Drinks with a DD. This was a $300 dining gift card to any of the twenty-two Steven Starr restaurants in Center City and a four hour limo ride provided by Wanish Limousine Services! We had to open up the bidding again and offer a second package because it was such a hot commodity! The first one went for $500 and the second for $850!
Mainline Event Planners helped get the gaming started by learning how to play a few casino games! We owe a special thanks to Tumbling Dice, one of the most professionally run casino night event in the gaming industry! The dealers were more than happy and extremely helpful to those of us who have never set foot in Atlantic City or a Las Vegas Casino. Blackjack, roulette, poker and craps were among the tables that you could play at while bidding on the silent auction items.
Thank you to Cool Pix Photobooth for the donation of their photobooth and Cleveland Morris who was our MC for the evening.
Overall it was an extremely successful night for the Valley Forge Elementary PTO and a great learning experience for my first event with Philadelphia & Mainline Event Planners.
Make it a Great Day!
