What’s the Buzz in Berwyn?

Berwyn is a quaint town in the suburbs of Philadelphia in the heart of the historic Main Line. With adorable neighborhood shops, you may not take it for a bride-to-be’s one stop shop for all of her upcoming wedding essentials. We decided to explore the variety of services that this unique town has to offer. So we put ourselves in the shoes of a bride-to-be and thought of all the things we might look for. We started our journey at the center of it all, the Berwyn Train Station.

This is the PERFECT spot for engagement photos or even day-of photos if location/time/weather permits! Our three favorite spots are the landing next to the train tracks for a wholesome, traditional hometown-feel. The walking-only bridge above the tracks provide an intimate and romantic feel for a couple. And finally, for those wanting to incorporate American pride (great for military couples!), the train station features the Berwyn Veterans Memorial for breathtaking patriotic shots.

Right across the street is Ufberg Dental, specializing in teeth cleaning and whitening, so you can smile confidently on your big day. After being in this location for 6 years Dr. Ufberg, DMD is ranked in the Top 3 general dentists by Main Line Today! For more information on Ufberg Dental, visit UfbergDental.com.

Chic & Simple Resale is an oasis of vintage treasures for the budget-conscience bride who LOVES old-fashioned glamour for her special day. Brides who are also looking for “something old” can shop their hearts out at this hidden gem of the Main Line. Chic & Simple Resale has been in business for three years. The owner, Dianna, has been in the resale business since 1977! Everything in the store is at least 75% off retail price. For more information, please visit chicandsimpleresale.com.

These were our favorite finds:

-Check out this $125 dress we found, great for a short dress look with a vintage flair. Perfect for a non-traditional wedding or your second time down the aisle!

-For the bride not into identical bridesmaid dresses? We found fashionable gowns of all lengths, shapes, colors and sizes. This beautiful coral dress retails for over $500 but Chic & Simple Resale sells it for less than $20 during their big summer sale! And for mother-of-the-bride, we found a HUGE selection of dresses like this gorgeous beige lace one, originally retailed for $1,420 on sale here for $295! Our favorite part about the dress section is that they are not previously owned. That’s right: great prices and new merchandise. You can’t beat that!

-Chic & Simple Resale has a large variety of brand-new, never-worn discounted bridal shoes that will match any dress.

-The best part about “thrifting” is all the unique jewelry finds! Instead of spending thousands at a department store or jewelry retailer, check out some of the amazing, one-of-a-kind pieces we found, each priced under $40 each.

-In addition to jewelry you can find awesome and inexpensive décor pieces that can be incorporated into any reception design. We envisioned gorgeous flowers in this bird cage, wine coolers in this crib-style piece and gifts adorning this wicker/wood bench.
